FURNITURE CLASSICS
Welcome to Furniture Classics, a company dedicated to producing value-oriented, solid wood furniture. Two generations of a family rich in furniture heritage constantly working to develop well priced, dependable construction of authentic reproductions and classic style.
The product line consists of standalone items that complement one another and work well in today’s eclectic lifestyle environments. Whatever roomscape is being designed, there is a Furniture Classics piece that can easily blend into the design plan. Furniture Classics has cultivated true partnerships with the artisans that build our furniture under strict guidelines to ensure reliability, consistency, and quality. These partnerships have developed over decades of interaction and are regarded as an extension of the Furniture Classics family.
Solid wood and traditional construction details are themes throughout product composition and design. Using kiln dried woods consisting of acacia, alder, mahogany, oak, pine, and teak, our craftsmen combine these timbers with traditional mortise, tenon, dovetail and dowel joints creating exquisite pieces of furniture. “Tenon through” and “dowel through” constructions are evident on many items. Naturally, these old world techniques are combined with modern glue and screws where craftsmen have deemed necessary, but this is all part of bringing increased value to customers.
Finishes are hand applied starting with physical distressing, where appropriate, and continuing through the staining process, ending with lacquered top coats. These solid wood pieces are often enhanced with intricate hand-painted designs and finishes. Please take your time and browse our product line secure in the knowledge that your selections will be delivered with the utmost value and quality.

HANCOCK & MOORE
EXPRESS YOUR DISTINCT VISION
At Hancock & Moore, we understand that style emanates from within. That is why each Hancock & Moore original is custom-made to your exacting requirements. Whether you choose the classic Vaughn wingback in Weston Cane Burnished leather or an Adrian Jade crocodile-embossed top-grain hide—your personal choice defines your own unique style. Our passion for accommodating self-expression begins with endless choices of leather, fabric, trim and wood finishes. Think of them as personality building blocks with the end result being a fabulous piece of furniture that conveys your distinct vision. Under the stitching, you’ll know that our tradition of hand-built quality and pride in craftsmanship ensures that your statement of self-expression will last for generations to come.
Hancock & Moore has been making masterpieces since 1981 when master craftsman Jimmy Moore turned his lifetime passion for furniture making into a legacy. Jimmy grew up learning the skills of an artisan, turning wood into beautiful, heirloom furniture. He spent hours hand-carving, sanding, sewing, and upholstering exclusive pieces using this time-honored approach.
To this day, up to 80 hours are spent handcrafting a piece of Hancock & Moore furniture. Every sofa, game chair, and bench bears the signature of the artisan who created it, reflecting the hard day’s work that went into its construction. To Hancock & Moore, custom-made furniture is the purest form of self-expression. That is why they have spent the past 30 years creating furniture exactly as you envisioned, making it truly as unique as you are.

HEKMAN COMFORTABLE LIVING
It began in 1893 when Edsko Hekman ventured from the Netherlands to Grand Rapids, Michigan hoping to find his life’s work as a furniture maker.
The Panic of 1893 would lead him in a new direction, returning him to his first profession as a baker. Selling cookies door-to-door, Edsko eventually went on to found the Hekman Biscuit Company, which was later to become the Keebler Company.
Edsko’s enchantment with furniture, crafted in the old-world traditions, would later blossom in his three sons John, Jelle and Henry. They would fulfill their father’s dream and open the doors of the Hekman Furniture Company in 1922.
In 1970 the company became a division of Beatrice Foods until 1983 when Hekman was purchased by the Howard Miller Clock Company of Zeeland, Michigan. In 1993, Hekman acquired Woodmark Furniture, an upholstery company founded by Elliot Wood whose discriminating standards were a perfect match to Hekman’s long tradition of excellence. The company now enjoyed a position of strength in its ability to offer its customer superior case goods and the finest in upholstery.
The careful selection of ingredients, the patient hands-on techniques and the exacting presentation… the shared passions of the baker Edsko and his furniture-making sons, remain the hallmarks of the Hekman Furniture Company today.
Now, almost a century old, Hekman is widely recognized as one of America’s premier furniture suppliers.

In 2000, Clyde passed the torch of leadership to Paul B. LORTS
Family owned and operated…
Lorts Manufacturing was founded in 1966 by Andy Lorts who was operating a small independent furniture store in Phoenix. Seeing the success that big box stores like Levitz were having on his business, he realized quickly he needed to diversify. He bought the machinery of a small lamp manufacturer and despite Andy’s lack of experience, he was now a furniture manufacturer. Ironically, Levitz would eventually become the new company’s biggest customer and as Levitz grew, so did Lorts.
The first generation of product was Early American in style and made from alder bought from Northwest Hardwoods in the Pacific Northwest. Lorts still make it’s furniture from alder from Northwest Hardwoods and is their oldest customer.

MACKENZIE DOW FINE FURNITURE
When you purchase a fine quality design from MacKenzie-Dow, you’ll experience a surprisingly timeless blend of Old World heritage and modern-day practicality. That’s because we specialize in the craftsmanship of superb quality 17th and 18th-century European-inspired solid wood furnishings that resonate as well today as they did years ago.
Situated in West Virginia, our local craftsmen and women employ centuries-old woodworking and joinery techniques to construct elegant creations that promise both enduring value and sophisticated style. Working with Wild Black Cherry, a species native to America’s abundant Appalachian forests, we appreciate nature’s blemishes that do not affect the structural integrity of our product. In fact, small splits, knots and other natural “defects” become attributes rather than flaws with the addition of an unparalleled finish that begs to be touched, not to mention used in a home full of life. At MacKenzie-Dow, we don’t make excuses for the ingrained characteristics of solid Appalachian Black Cherry. In fact, we celebrate them with an incomparably soft, hard-planed finish that lets nature do all the talking.
Inspired by the sturdy furnishings common to the 17th and 18th century English pubs and taverns, MacKenzie-Dow’s English Pub Collection offers designs for every room in the home. Casual, yet sophisticated, these authentic, one-of-a-kind pieces employ age-old cabinetmaking techniques such as planking, dovetailing, mortise and tenon, and square peg construction.
